Tranmere have today confirmed the prices for the three home pre-season games to take place at Prenton Park in July and August including the tie against Liverpool in two weeks time on Saturday 12th July.

The most notable thing about the prices is the special offer for Juniors attending the Liverpool game.  Any Junior who buys a ticket for the game against Liverpool will get admission to Rovers' first home League game against Hartlepool United on Saturday August 16th for just £1.00 upon production of their ticket stub from the Liverpool game.

The offer, which basically allows anyone under the age of 16 to watch Tranmere take on both Liverpool AND Hartlepool for a total of just £6.00 is designed to make people who may be attending Prenton Park for the first time for the Liverpool game, come back again a few weeks later to support the Whites again in the all important early League games.

Speaking to the Official Tranmere Rovers Website, Chief Executive Mick Horton said.......

"We realise that there will be some supporters at this match who have never been to Prenton Park before or have not been for some time. We want them to come back and hope the special offer for juniors will encourage them to come and support us in our first home game of the season against Hartlepool.

"We always pride ourselves on being the best value for money family club in the area and were delighted with the recent results from the Football League Supporters Survey which showed our supporters rank our ticket prices and ticket offers as the best in League One.

"We hope this offer shows our continued commitment to making football accessible for all ages."

The Liverpool game is exactly the reason why I'm not fussed if Tranmere never make the Premier League.

Most of the tickets that gone already have apparently gone to Liverpool fans which is good for the Club to get money but still not right really.

Which Tranmere fans? We aren't going to anywhere near sell out with just Tranmere fans, we will if Liverpool fans sit in the home ends, therefore giving us more money. It's a meaningless friendly and for that reason I'm happy for their money.

At first I was outraged by the Ticket Prices (£19.00 for and Adult in the Main Stand)and by the number of Liverpool Fans probably expected in the Home Stands.

However, as Matt says this game is a meaningless friendly but IS a great financial boost to the Club and the money should be welcomed no matter who it's from.
