Sherriff Departs Rovers for Shrewsbury

Total Tranmere brings you the news that Shane Sherriff has departed Tranmere Rovers for Shrewsbury Town. He has signed a two year deal at the Shropshire club and may partner another former Rovers Captain, Mike Jackson at centre-back. He also rejected a two-year deal offered to him by Rovers' manager, Ronnie Moore.
Sherriff Leaves Rovers for Shrewsbury
 

Shrewsbury bound Sherriff's early career started at Leeds United after impressing their scouts. Then he was released and moved to Denmark where he scored some spectacular goals.

After a trial with Tranmere Rovers he was signed and was made team captain at the age of just 23. This honour was removed from him and given to Ian Goodison.

Shane lost his place as Left back in the '07/'08 season and was then used as a utility player and then a replacement for the injured Davies.

Sherriff has signed a two year deal at Shrewsbury after turning down a contract of the same length at Tranmere.

i really dont think we should have bought taylor!! i think sheriff was good enough!
that 200 k wud have gone down wel during this window!

he is a top player yes, but a left back wasnt a priority!!
u shouldnt spend your whole transfer budget on a player that isnt need! i really rate him but i dont no why we bought him

I thought signing Andy Taylor was a little harsh on Sherrif as i think he was a quality left back but you can't miss many oppurtunites of signing good players like Andy Taylor he was to good to miss out on and how do you know we payed 200k for him?

Good luck to Shane which looks to me as if Sherwbury are going up next year i'd like to thank him for captaining us and playing everywhere for us also.

Taylor was nowhere near 200k from what I heard.

Someone said it had been something like 15k but that sounds far too much of a bargain.

15K does sound too good to be true. It was probably more but maybe not as much as 200K - I really don't know!

undisclosde means 50k to BB an 150k to PJ, but us paying suffering fans never get to know... and PJ doesn't have to knock it off our tab no doubt.
