Holmes Signs on and Youngsters Sign Professionally
Tranmere have announced today that young defender Danny Holmes has signed a new one year contract to keep him at the Club until the summer of 2009 and two other young players have signed their first professional terms with the Club.
Holmes who is 19, was a regular in the Reserves last season and also spent part of the campaign on loan at Southport where he earned high praise for his performances for the Sandgrounders.
With the departure of first choice right-back Robbie Stockdale last week, there is a great chance for Holmes to make his mark next season in the Rovers first team.
Speaking to the Official Tranmere Rovers Website about the signing of Holmes' new contract, Manager Ronnie Moore said.....
"Danny is a promising young defender who gained match experience from his spell at Southport. Hopefully he will use it to his advantage and push for a First Team place next season."
Meanwhile, the Club have also completed the signings of two Youth Scholars on professional contracts in preparation for next season.
Liverpool born striker Terry Gornell who is 18, played regularly in the Reserves last season and scored fifteen goals in all competitions and was an unused substitute for the First Team on three occasions. He has been with the Club since the age of ten and has just completed the second year of his youth scholarship.
Aaron Cresswell who is also 18, is also from Liverpool and plays at left back. He has been a regular in the Reserves last season and scored four times as well as being captain of the Youth Team.
He has been with the Club since the age of fifteen and like Gornell, has also just completed the second year of his youth scholarship.

Ronnie Moore is Delighted to Keep Three Youngsters On!
Speaking to the Official Tranmere Rovers Website about the two youth players, Manager Ronnie Moore said......
"It is very important for the Club to see players who have been with the Club from a young age go through the Centre of Excellence and Youth Team and make it professionally. Both have a lot potential and with hard work should have bright futures ahead of them."
