Ronnie Pre-Match – “We Need to Tighten Up ”
Ahead of Tranmere's final game of the season, Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore summed up his thoughts on the season and looked ahead to Saturday's trip to Northampton Town.
He told Tranmere World.............
"We're not a million miles away. Managers will always look back and use injuries as excuses but I don't want to do that. We have improved and we are a match for anybody, but we need to tighten up when we go away from home."
"If you score 19 goals away from home you're going to be a little bit short with your points tally, so I think it's a matter of putting that right. I believe we're as good as anybody, but results say we're not otherwise we'd have been promoted. We've tried to entertain and win points"
"If you're going to go up you need to be consistent. At home we're a match for anybody in the league. We have to be hard to beat away from home. Should we be playing two wingers away from home all season? Are there certain games we should play 4-5-1? Lots of teams are doing that now."

"We haven't been resilient enough but nobody has given us a good hiding. You need a bit of luck and to have decisions go in your favour but we've had too many sendings off."
Speaking of the Player of the Season Dinner last Monday night, Ronnie said..........
"It was a really nice evening, it went down well. The players who won the awards have earned them. It's very hard picking a player of the year, but I think Goody was just about right."
Ronnie Moore's comments first appeared on Tranmere World through the Official Tranmere Rovers Website.
