POTS Winner
At tonight’s Player of the Season Awards, Ian Goodison was crowned the worthy winner of the Fans’ Player of the Season Award whilst the other awards were also determined as the night got into full swing.
A full report on the Player of the Season Awards Dinner will appear here on Total Tranmere tomorrow or on Wednesday but the list of Award winners from tonight will appear here as they are announced........
Player of the Season – Ian Goodison - The centre back has been a rock this year and the defence has looked very shaky without him. Although he is well into his 30's the defender is still going strong and it is very rare he is beaten.
Young Player of the Season – Andy Taylor - having previously joined Rovers' on loan, Andy signed permanently in the January transfer and became an essential part of the Rovers team. He has made some excellent tackles aswell as scoring a great goal away at Crewe. He is also good while dribbling the ball.
Goal of the Season – Antony Kay Vs Carlisle (Home on Boxing Day). An absolute superb strike from defender Kay, having recieved the ball on his weak foot at the egde of the box from a McLaren corner, Kay chipped the ball over a Carlisle defender and hit a volley with his right foot which fired right into the top corner - had it been in the Premiership they'd still be talking about it!
Players Player of the Season – Paul McLaren - Paul has been terrific this season in the middle four - he has many assists to his name (the most in League One) and has been essential to most of Rover's goals, especially in the absence of wingers Steve Davies and Chris Shuker.

Players Young Player of the Season – Steven Jennings - The young midfielder has impressed many this season and drastically improved over last summer. This season he has been very influential in the Tranmere midfield and is often controlling the middle four aswell as breaking up attacks.
Les Parry Award – Unfortunately this award could not be confirmed as Les Parry was ill on the night, however a special contribution award will go to Les for 800 consecutive games as Rovers' physio, of which most have been in shorts!
Keep checking back over the next few days for a full report of the night by site reporter Mike Jackson!
