Ronnie Moore Post Match - "We Deserved to Win"

Following Rover's home win against Southend United on Saturday which ended Tranmere's home campaign on a high, Ronnie Moore told Tranmere World his thoughts on the game and the season as a whole.

He told Tranmere World........

"We deserved to win.  It was a lovely bit of football for the goal.  It was a great ball in and he's not going to miss in those areas.  But we need more. We need goalscoring midfield players. Kaysy has shown he can compete for a place in there which is good for us.

"We came in at half time and you're thinking 'how is it 0-0?' because we've had umpteen chances.  But I've got nothing but praise for them.  We've done the double over Southend who are in the Play Offs and the double over Carlisle who are in the Play Offs.  It shows we're not a million miles away from being a decent side.

"It just wants a bit of tinkering with and we'll be a threat for next season.  Southend are big and strong but I don't think they're better than us.  They've just been consistent."

Ronnie Moore

"It's nice to finish at home on a high.  There's nothing more embarrassing than being battered and having to do a lap of the pitch.  But it would have been nice if our season had a few more weeks to go."

"I've said in my programme notes how well the fans have done this season, we just need a few more in.  We wanted to finish seventh but we can't because of Brighton getting a win, so let's see if we can get the eighth spot."

Ronnie Moore's comments first appeared on Tranmere World through the Official Tranmere Rovers Website.
