Once again the Total Tranmere football team are in action this weekend prior to Tranmere’s home game against Southend United at Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon.
Total Tranmere FC will be taking on local rivals Devonshire FC at 10.30am on Saturday at the Shaftesbury Youth Club pitches which are adjacent to the main Tranmere Rovers Car Park behind the Kop Stand (access via the gate on Borough Road).
Two weeks ago, Total Tranmere lost 6-3 on a boggy replacement pitch when they took on Royal Bengal FC and this time they will be looking to go one better and gain their second win of the year.
Total Tranmere will be playing in the White Shirts of Tranmere Rovers and will be hoping for a good performance against what is rumoured to be an injury hit Devonshire side.
TTFC v Devonshire History
There have been two past meetings between the two teams with Devonshire winning on both occasions. In the first match in September of last year which was played at Shaftes, Total Tranmere allowed Devonshire an early three goal lead and never really recovered despite a goal from Chris Cooper just after half-time that made it 3-1.
Shortly after scoring though, TT conceded a penalty to make it 4-1 and eventually went on to lose 9-2 with player-manager Mike Jackson getting the other consolation goal for TT.
In the return meeting at Victoria Park in late January 2008, it was Total Tranmere who took an early lead through debutant James Formstone after just five minutes before conceding four second half goals to lose 4-1.
TTFC Team News
Manager Mike Jackson has a number of absentees for the game but should still be able to name a decent starting line-up against Devonshire on Saturday.
Definitely out of contention for this game are James Formstone (unable to travel), Matty Holden (reliability issues), Mikey Burrows (hip) and Niall Jones (absent) whilst Player Manager Mike Jackson will almost certainly miss his first ever Total Tranmere game with a knee injury picked up in midweek.
Dani Read, who missed the last game against Royal Bengal with an ankle injury may be in contention for a place.
If you are free on Saturday morning before the Tranmere v Southend game, why not come down to Shaftes and support Total Tranmere FC as they do battle in this friendly game? Admission is free but your support would be a big boost.
