Tranmere Rovers v Doncaster Rovers Match Preview
By Deadly Submarine February 29 2008
A look ahead to Saturday's clash of the Rovers at Prenton Park as Doncaster Rovers are the visitors in Coca-Cola League One. Doncaster are another team in the hunt for at least a play-off place and possibly even an automatic spot so it should be a tense affair.

Saturday 1st March 2008 - Kick-Off 3.00pm

Coca-Cola League One at Prenton Park

From one Rovers to another and then another!  After last week's trip to face the Southern Rovers from Bristol, Tranmere this week host the Northern Rovers from Doncaster at Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon.

Donny arrive in fine form that has recently seen them sit in second place in League One although a defeat at Carlisle last Saturday has seen them slip to fourth place going into this game.

The League is tight and a win for the visitors could move them back into second place for 48 hours at least as second placed Carlisle face third placed Forest on Monday night on TV.

A win for Tranmere could lift them above Walsall who are away at Luton and would also move them to within just a point of the automatic spots meaning that this is a huge game for Ronnie Moore and his troops.

Tranmere haven't lost for eight matches in the League and are unbeaten in four games at home in the League.  Doncaster on the other hand had only lost once in 2008 until they lost at Carlisle on Saturday and they have won four out of the last six on the road.

Earlier in the season at Doncaster's new Keepmoat Stadium, the two Rovers battled out a 0-0 draw despite Tranmere playing a lot of the second half with ten men when Carl Tremarco was sent off for a clumsy challenge.

Last season at Prenton Park, Tranmere won 1-0 thanks to a sixth minute goal from Chris Greenacre.  The same result this season would do for Tranmere as they look to continue their recent good run and keep in the play-off race right through until May.

If you are going the game, get behind the lads and enjoy it!

Tranmere Team News

Apart from longer term injury victims Steve Davies and Chris Shuker (both knee), Tranmere's only other absentee is midfielder Steven Jennings who is suspended for three matches following his sending off at Bristol Rovers last weekend.
