Chris Greenacre signed for Rovers in July 2005 after an injury hit spell at Championship side Stoke City.

The 29 year-old striker began his career at Manchester City from where he joined a succession of Clubs on loan with Cardiff, Blackpool, Scarborough and Northampton all benefitting from his services before a loan move to Mansfield Town in November 1999.

Whilst at Mansfield, Greenacre netted 5 goals in 12 appearances and as a result his loan move was subsequently made permanent two months later in January 2000.

In the two seasons that followed he netted an impressive 53 goals in 123 appearances which led to him being snapped up by Stoke where his injury problems began.

Restricted to just 44 appearances in three seasons at Stoke, Greenacre signed for Rovers in 2005 and has since netted 37 goals in the last two seasons.
