Chris Greenacre signed for Rovers in July 2005 after an injury hit spell at then Championship side Stoke City.

The 30 year-old striker began his career at Manchester City from where he joined a succession of Clubs on loan with Cardiff City, Blackpool, Scarborough and Northampton all benefiting from his services before a final loan move to Mansfield Town in November 1999.

Whilst at Mansfield, Greenacre netted five goals in twelve appearances and as a result his loan move was subsequently made permanent two months later in January 2000.

In the two seasons that followed he netted an impressive 53 goals in 123 appearances which led to him being snapped up by Stoke City where his injury problems began.

Restricted to just 44 appearances in three seasons at Stoke, Greenacre eventually moved on by signing a two-year deal with Rovers in 2005 and has since netted 51 goals in the last three seasons after signing a further two-year deal last summer to keep him at the Club until the summer of 2009.
