Anthony Kay is an utility player who signed a two-year contract at the Club in June 2007 after being released by his home-town Club Barnsley.
Ronnie Moore didn't wait long after Kay was released for before signing the ex-Tykes vice-captain who can play in a variety of positions. He has been regularly known to play both centre-back and defensive midfield but he can also play at right-back if required.
Prior to joining Rovers, 25 year-old Kay had spent his entire professional career at Oakwell playing for Barnsley at every level since his schoolboy days.
After signing professionally with the Tykes in 2000, Kay made his full debut shortly afterwards in a Championship game against Norwich City.
Until his release at the end of 2006/07 season he was Barnsley's longest serving player and will be best remembered for slotting home their winning penalty to promote them to the Coca-Cola Championship in May 2006.
