To me 2005 becomes extremely significant that we celebrate two VERY important anniversaries a 50 and a 100.
Could we win at last after 50 years of hurt, the League title or even after the disappointment of last year' s successful failure under the tenureship of Ranieri become possibility Champions of Europe. With Mourinho at the helm, anything is possible.
Last night, Tuesday 14th Sept Chelsea perhaps played their best football under Mourinho with a convincing 3-0 win over PSG in Paris with the 'Drog' grabbing two or the three goals and perhaps now beginning to show the beginning of his £24m worth after signing from Marseille.
I first saw Drogba actually 'live' v Southampton and he did bitterly disappoint me, especially with his first touch and I was beginning to think that perhaps we had got another Robert Fleck in the making. Although the press and media thought differently, but what the hell do they know lol, I did warm to him against Villa and felt bitterly agrieved and annoyed when he was clearly robbed of a penalty some 8/9 mins from time, and then he was subsequently booked for diving. Ref's commonsense certainly went out the window that day, although it did return a couple of days later when the booking was rescinded. No bleeding good that done us and after all we were done. 100% perfect record straight out of the window certainly handing the advantage to those North London Goons. Goals Chelsea, we need goals.
Talking of North London. I cannot wait for the Spurs game this Sunday. Now a season ticket holder (in the Matthew Harding stand) for the first time in about 20 odd years, no worries now for at least a season about getting match tickets. No more chasing around robbing Peter to pay Paul at least for a year my home matches are guaranteed. Can't wait. Here's to extending our very long unbeaten run against the boys from White Hart Lane.
Two very simple anniversaries to most, but to me, two very signficant ones. Could 2005 be the year where the Championship Pennant, trophy and flag move across from North London to West London. 50 years is sooooooooooooo long to wait.
More to come.
