Two words have dominated AvBs vocabularly this week and they are 'The Project.' What is 'The Project?' Homework for school, college, uni? Does Mr A even know what 'The Project' is, after all he did demand explanations after the baffling exclusions of Michael Essien, Ashley Cole and Super Frank in Naples during the week.
Decisions that reportedly caused Cole to throw his toys out of his pram, for Super Frank to reportedly say 'I am not going anyway, till I get my £1.5m loyalty bonus' and for Branislav Ivanovic, the giant Serb, to break ranks and go public demanding that the squabbling has to stop and every player MUST concentrate and focus on Chelsea Football Club (our employer that pays way over the top massive wages... well he didn't say that part but you get the drift!!.... ED).
Ivanovic has been at Chelsea for over four years and his midweek outburst was very surprising but welcome.
An outburst that hopefully brings the squad back into line and AvB as part of his 'Project' would do no worse than making Ivanovic Captain in the absence of One Legend, One Leader and the Only England Captain, John Terry.
I have written before that Chelsea need to groom another 'leader' when JT is absent - and JT' could be absent until April - for me Super Frank is not a leader, Cech can't really do the job from his position and sadly after watching Didier in Naples on Tuesday, he just doesn't look that interested, despite the fact he wants a new two year deal, when Chelsea are offering only one.
Way to go Didier.
Talking about grooming new leaders.
Todd Kane, U18 right-back.
True Blue die-hard Chelsea fan, Todd comes from a Chelsea supporting family and he was instrumental in Chelsea's thrilling and stunning FA Youth Cup quarter-final win at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Chelsea trailed 3-0 at half-time, but came back sensationally to win 4-3 with Alex Kiwomya scoring the winner a couple of minutes from full-time.
In the previous round against West Ham the week before in another thrilling game, Todd stepped up and cool as you like, scored the winning penalty to set up the Forest game.
The U18s appearance in the FA Youth Cup semi-final will be their 4th in as many years and the 1st team should really be proud of their acheivements but ashamed of themselves as these boys showed grit, determination, passion, fight, enthusiasm and they played for the shirt and most importantly the badge.
I also predicted a couple of weeks ago that if AvB continued to 'strangle' the life out of Fernando Torres, Torres' 2012 Euro campaign could be in jeopardy.
Well, Torres has been dropped from the Spanish squad to play Venezuela in a friendly next week.
Strugglers Bolton are today's visitors and in recent years league games between the teams at The Bridge have been close and difficult encounters which Chelsea have won: 1-0, 1-0, 4-3 and drawn 1-1 and 2-2 whereas at The Reebok Chelsea have won 5-1, 4-0, 4-0 in their last three league visits.
Gary Cahill faces up to his former team-mates for the first time today and maybe his inside 'knowledge' of The Trotters forms part of AvBs 'project.'
COME ON CHELSEA
