Ibrahimovic agent claims Chelsea in poll position

According to Ibrahimovic´s agent, Chelsea are the most likely to sign the Inter striker. Ibrahimovic made it clear he was unhappy at the club during the closing stages of last season. More recently, Mourinho stated that he hoped to keep the Swede but issued an ultimatum that his future must be resolved before pre-season.

"From the rumours I’m hearing and the news I have, I believe that Ibrahimovic will be the final brick to complete Ancelotti’s Chelsea,” said agent Parisi.

“There are situations that make me say this.”

Well I don’t know where he gets this “final brick” thing from – Ancelotti has yet to buy the first new brick!

Of course agent talk isn’t always a reliable indicator of a club’s genuine interest.  Chelsea’s name is often used to provoke and panic a potential buying club to speed up their decision making process.  Parisi could well be stirring in order to prod Barcelona into completing a deal for his player.

MORATTI - INTER

Inter president Moratti denied any moves with his counterpart at Barcelona, Joan Laporta, for a swap deal involving Ibrahimovic and Eto´o:

"I went to see him because we are old friends and I wanted to know if it was true that he was interested in Ibrahimovic."

He said that he was not certain, and I didn’t not ask him about Eto’o."

Chelsea have kept their cards pretty close to their chest on transfers this summer although the media never stop speculating of course.  Chairmen have confirmed that we did move for Glen Johnson and are in negotiations for Frank Ribery but apart from them it seems difficult to pin-point exactly who we are interested in.

There have been plenty of quotes on the potential Deco and Carvalho moves to Inter so it is possible that they could be tied in to a move for Ibrahimovic and/or right-back Maicon (should we be considering offering Bosingwa to Bayern Munich as part of a deal for Ribery).

"As a fan I'd want them to stay, but as a president with a balance sheet to keep an eye on, I say that if they want to go, they can go,” said Moratti.

"It would be counterproductive to keep them. I'd give them both a 50 percent chance of staying at Inter."

If a transfer for Ibrahimovic is on the cards, I can surely imagine Mourinho demanding a huge pound of flesh in the shape of Didier Drogba in return.

Personally I think there could be some confusion and wrong expectations from fans of both Chelsea and Inter Milan this summer. I think it is a 'given' that Jose wants both Deco and Carvalho at the San Siro next term and that Maicon will arrive in the other direction from THAT deal. Jose has always wanted to partner Drogs up front with Eto'o and so I can see a deal being done this summer taking Eto'o to Italy and Ibrahimovic to Barca. Drogs will try and stay one more season at SB and run his contract down ready for a big pay-day this time next season. The fly in the ointment as far as Jose and Drogs is concerned though is whether Chels allow that scenario to work its way out. I dont think so and I firmly believe that Chelsea will try and 'off load Drogs to AC Milan in an effort to try and get hold of Pato. All speculation of course but as good a 'theory' as any me thinks!(Sm76)

Definitely seems likely re Carvalho and Deco to Inter - and highly possible that either Maicon or even Ibrahimovic are worked into the deal. Obviously, if it was Ibrahimovic, Mourinho would probably demand that Drogba also be worked into the deal.

Well, the club are apparently preparing Drogba a three-year contract - if he doesn´t sign then I´m sure we wouldn´t lose him without having a replacement already tied-up. Even if Drogba stays we STILL need an extra, quality forward.

Possibly, although I think Milan are also perhaps a bit more interested in hard-cash? They do have fans (and Ultras) to keep happy though.
