Chelsea Pato deal looks grim

After a meeting with Milan suits Alexandre Pato´s move to Chelsea looks set to collapse before an official bid can be tabled. Agent Gilmar Veloz has told Telelombardia that it is Milan that will decide the future of the young forward.

“Pato had a meeting with Milan and it is the club that decides on the future of a player,” said Veloz.

Both Pato and his agent were open to a move to Stamford Bridge and Pato himself said he would speak to Ancelotti before anyone else.

After the loss of Kaka, Milan fans - and more specifically the Ultras - are so livid that some Milan officials have hired bodyguards.

Now it remains for Milan to offer one of their most prized assets a pay rise.  Nevertheless, the clubs finances are not reportedly not particularly healthy so their may well be a bit of juggling with regard to sales and purchases of other players to balance the budget.

“This is not a problem we will talk about in public,” added Veloz.

“The contract is an issue between us and a private matter for the player.”

“Ancelotti is very important to me,” said the youngster.

“He was the one who wanted me in Milan and gave me the chance to grow up as a player.”

Pato is currently tied to Milan by a long term contract and the Rossoneri want to hold on to him for the time being.

“I have a contract with Milan but I would be seriously interested if Chelsea called me,” confessed the striker.

These comments are likely to upset Vice-President Adriano Galliani who has already explained on several occasions that the young Brazilian represents the future of Milan.
