FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Everton: Wemberlee, Wemberlee
COME ON CHELSEA
By Since66 May 29 2009 'We Are the Famous CFC and We're Going to Wemberleeee, Wemberleeee, Wemberleeee. Blue is the Colour, Football is the Game. Care....Free, Wherever You May Be, We Are The Famous CFC.' In the mood? I am and I cannot wait for tomorrow. HUSS' last game in charge and a new Blue Flag to boot to say thanks to the great man.Alex is fit and so is Super Frank.
'Flying High Up in the Sky, We'll Keep the Blue Flag Flying High from Stamford Bridge to Wemberleeee, We'll Keep the Blue Flag Flying High.'
Back in January when Chelsea entered the competition, I was on my way to the States when Chelsea played Southend at The Bridge. Landing some SIX hours after the game finished, I turned on my phone whilst having a cigarette (the 1st and 2nd in about 14 hours) before getting the hire car and laughed when I saw a text message from Since88 saying we had drawn 1-1.
To be honest, I didn't expect anything else, especially under the tenure of BIG Phil. Its the FA Cup for God's Sake! Well what can you do halfway across the Atlantic and to be honest I do not recall thinking about how we were doing, I was distracted too much by a little hottie sitting next to me heheheheh!
BIG Phil started off great and then it all went t**ts up. Losing at home to Liverpool, Arsenal, getting stuffed at The Ure, struggled against Cluj away, stuffed in Rome, out on penalties to Burnley in the Carling Cup and the rest they say is history.
BIG Phil left and the saviour of our season (HUSS) made his presence felt when we won at Watford with an Anelka hat-trick, then Ipswich and Coventry went the same way, before we went a goal behind to Woolwich at Wembley then we stormed back with goals from Malouda and Didier to return to Wembley for the Final tomorrow.
So now its Everton. Both League games this season have ended in 0-0 draws, surely the same cannot happen tomorrow - or could it - they say everything happens in threes.
Extra-time and penalties no thank you, please God AND you owe me.
As I write this, I am watching a re-run of the 1970 Cup Final against 'Dirty Leeds' at Wembley. At twelve years old I wasn't allowed to go to the game, in fact I was on a school journey at the time in Spain. For the replay I sat and watch it at home on the telly and then spent an hour or so out the window shouting and screaming my head off once Ron Harris lifted the FA Cup at Old Trafford for the first time in Chelsea's history.
Chelsea's first FA Cup Final was way back in 1915 where we lost 3-0 to Sheffield United. It took until 1967 when we reached the final of the 'greatest domestic cup competition in the world' and the first All London final against Tottingham. Chelsea lost 2-1.
Then there was the 'Dirty Leeds' epic and in 1994 I got to my first FA Cup final and we got 'stuffed' by the Ure 4-0 (although that was a stick-up. Cheers David Elleray).
In 1997 we triumphed again beating Middlesbrough 2-0, 2000 we prevailed against Aston Villa 1-0, 2002 we were done by 'Lovejoy' in Cardiff, but in 2007 we won the FA Cup again against the 'Ure' 1-0 with a late Didier Drogba goal. The first winning final at Wembley after we won the last final at the Old Wembley.
HISTORY INDEED!! AND THEY SAY CHELSEA HAVE NO HISTORY!!!
The FA Cup and Chelsea = SYNOMYNOUS. Like Egg and Bacon, Toast and Butter
"When John Goes Up to Lift the FA Cup, We Were There, We Were There........"
Well I was only 6 when we won that cup (watched the final in black and white and the replay in colour I think - the CWC the next year in black and white).
And that cup final was/is one of the most watched football matches in HISTORY.
I´m expecting a tough game tomorrow. Everton will be really psyched up for it - but so will we. Soft pitch so it could be a bit of a slog.
I would love it if we won and Guss picked the trophy up ahead of JT!
P.S Did you get her number/photo?!

Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole, meanwhile, could become the first player for more than 100 years to win five FA Cup winners medals, having won the trophy three times with Arsenal and again with Chelsea in 2007.
"It would be a great milestone if I could get it," said the left-back. "I would be honoured to have the record. It's a great trophy to win and I would be delighted to win it five times."

Greaves, who scored more than 100 goals for Chelsea, will be cheering on Guus Hiddink's side with his grandson, if somewhat against his will. "I will be in Club Wembley with my grandson, who wants to go because he's a Chelsea supporter," he says. "I wasn't going to, but it was that or be strangled to death by the missus."

pk_gunner Willy won the moral victory.
He isnt regarded as a greedy ---- up and down the country. He isnt booed for France.
What do you think of Arsenal (and other clubs players) who leave because they are getting paid more or stay because they have been offered a new contract?
