Chelsea are negotiating with German Bundesliga club Wolfsburg for the signature of prolific hit-man Edin Dzeko claim the Bosnian media.  Dzeko has scored an impressive 22 goals in 30 league matches, 4 in 8 in the UEFA and is currently top scorer in the World Cup qualifiers with 7 goals in 6 matches.

“I am aware of Chelsea's interest,” said Dzeko.

"There have been concrete talks with my agent and the club. Nevertheless, we should not talk about it yet.

"Other clubs are also interested in me in England and Spain, but I will only think about it when the season concludes.

Dzeko was originally a midfielder for FK Zeljeznicar and then moved to Czech club FK Teplice in 2005, where during a two season period he was moved up to forward, scoring 16 goals in 43 matches.

Wolfsburg were sufficiently impressed and signed him for €4 million.  The move paid off and he was voted best striker in the first half of the 2007-8 season by the German sportsweb "Sportal de".

Wolfsburg currently lead the Bundesliga in a nip and tuck title race by a narrow two-goal margin on goal difference from Bayern Munich with both clubs on 63 points (Hertha Berlin are on 62 points and Stuttgart on 61).

“We have to remain focused on the title race,” insisted Dzeko.

“Staying with Wolfsburg was my intention if we win the league, but right now I am not sure any more."

This are tha kind of players we need for next season in order to knock down united from its patch. if we sign Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA, Edin Dzeko Wolf'sburg, Ashley Young from Aston villa, and Alves from Porto, and forget about Emanuel Adebayor we dont need him and also his time is up, If we buy the above players we will be having depth in attck a strong deffence a consistant middfiled which stability for the whole season and definetly silver ware to come as a result of the good work. i would have gone for Frank rijkaard instade of Ancelotti but I belive that either of them will do good with Chelsea as they are all sustancial Coaches.

Yep - some good points there.

I too prefer even Rijkaard to Ancelotti.

I go with the first comment. I love that. We need players like: Edin Dzeko, Yuri Zhirkov, Ashley Young, Alves, if possible Frank Ribery or David Villa not a lazy flop like Adebayor and a coach like Frank Rijkaard instade of Ancelotti

Spending money on Adebayor would be a total waste, he is gonna be disastrous for Chelsea. Imagine he couldn't even fit in well in Arsenal much less Chelsea, I urge Chelsea board to think twice about this lazy guy. He is too sluggish for Chelsea kind of football, he doesn't have the strength. He has let Arsenal down so many times mostly against the top 4 teams in Premier league he doesn't even worth 500,000 Pounds not to talk of 30 million Pounds, Chelsea management should please understand Adebayor is not good for Chelsea don't ruin the legacy of Chelsea past and present heroes. Think wise and do not try to compromise for any coach do what you think is right for the club not favour any in coming coach nor anyone.

Well, he´s still young (23?) so he will get better. However, Drogba is much better and I hope we keep him for 1-2 seasons more.

In any case, Wenger would want too much money and ask for Kalou. Kalou is inconsistant but is still young and will get better -if we have to sell him it should be on the continent - not to a rival in the prem.

Edin Dzeko:

Played 49 games this season in all competitions....scored 43 goals...

Currently leading FIFA World Cup 2010 qualifier goalscorer...

And he's only 23......

Before joining wolfsburg...with only 20 years old he was best goalscorer in Czech league...
