A very satisfying afternoon for Chelsea in Monaco after receiving a reasonable draw and almost achieving a clean sweep winning three out of the four best player categories. Chelsea were first out of the hat and will play Roma, Bordeaux, and finally, from Romania, CFR Cluj.

Roma will be awkward at worst on the pitch but most notably, our away travelling support ought to keep an eye out for their cowardly fans who run up behind rival fans and stab them in the bum before running off.

It is a sign of the strength of the Premier League with all our English teams in Pot 1 and all “Best Player” categories won by Premier League players (Platini must have been gritting his teeth in frustration!). 

Petr Cech won Best Goalkeeper, John Terry Best Defender and Frank Lampard Best Midfielder – Ronaldo won Best Forward and European Player of the Year. 

Man Utd will face Celtic, a very tricky Villa Real and unknown Danish side Aalborg in Group E. 

Liverpool have a very tough task ahead with PSV, Marseille and a real flair side in Atletico Madrid – a very strong group which will be difficult for them to come through unscathed. 

Arsenal will play Porto, Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kiev in Group G – another toughish group – certainly much harder than ours but not as difficult as Liverpool’s. 

Elsewhere Mourinho´s Inter face Werder Bremen and Henk Ten Cate´s Panathinaikos and the “Old Lady” Juventus face Real Madrid, Zenit and Barte Borisov to complete the other “Chelsea connection”, Claudio Ranieri.

Looking at that draw Dixie you really must have had a nightmare when you picked your group you didn't want LOL LOL!!!
