After massive investment, Chelsea open the Academy and Community Pavilion at Cobham today and to celebrate the new facilities, Chelsea are staging an eight-team U16s tournament called the Cobham Cup. Including the U16s of Chelsea the seven other teams taking part are:

Al-Nejmeh Sporting Club from Lebanon, USA's Disney Soccer Showcase All-Stars, Suwon Samsung Bluewings from Korea, FC Tolyatti from Russia, River Plate from Argentina, Ajax from Holland and Bayern Munich from Germany.

COBHAM ROMAN

The tournament is set-up with two groups of four, playing against each other over two days with the top two from each group playing in semi-finals and final on Monday afternoon.

There is also provision for a third/fourth play-off match. The final is scheduled to kick-off at 5pm on Monday afternoon.

In Chelsea's group are: River Plate, Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Al-Nejmeh.

In Group two are: Ajax, Bayern Munich, FC Tolyatti and Disney Soccer Showcase All-Stars.

Chief Executive Peter Kenyon said, "Everybody at Chelsea is delighted that we are celebrating the opening of our Academy and Community Pavilion by staging the Chelsea Academy International Tournament this weekend.

"This tournament is a true reflection of Chelsea.

"It demonstrates our commitment to developing and celebrating top young players and our local community, and the calibre of teams participating shows the global standard Chelsea now competes in and with players from the USA, Lebanon, Russia and South America, the international appeal of the club is there for all to see.

"We look forward to a great weekend of entertaining football played in the spirit of fair play."

Chelsea U16s beat River Plate 2-1

Disney beat Toylatti 2-1

Bluewings beat Al-Nejmah 5-0

Ajax beat Bayern Munich 1-0

Quite impressive beating River Plate - I would imagine they would have an excellent youth team?
