ROBINHO
(For my part I haven’t written an update on the Robinho transfer saga for at least a couple of days now so I thought…”Why not! Robinho Part 764 chapter 3 here I go!” Poor old Since 66 is probably hoping that we’ll sign him just so I’ll shut up about it!)
Real Madrid President Calderon had blustered that Robinho would not even be sold for 70m euros but it appears other club officials who later confided in the players agent Wagner Ribeiro that the situation was “flexible” , have had their way.
Since an initial and apparently acrimonious meeting Ribiero returned to the negotiating table to face Calderon in a last effort to free his player:
"Until August 31 anything is possible," said Ribeiro.
"Until the transfer market closes we do not give this matter up as closed. The president, Ramón Calderón, has promised Robinho that, if the club is presented with an offer of €40m, he will be allowed to leave."

Can’t blame them really, the boy has been moping about the place, traveling alone to the team hotel (last weekend) and generally making it quite clear he wants to join up with Big Phil at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea reportedly made a first bid of just under £20m followed by a second of £26m but it looks as if we are going to behave badly for the first time in a while by really splashing the cash around.
The Sun report differing figures for the final bid - upped by £4million to £28.4m.
Chelsea’s net spending has been quite low for a couple of years now but this summers respectable net spend of around 10m looks to finally leap up to sufficient level to get oppo fans foaming at the mouth again.
Apparently Kenyon returned yesterday but will fly out AGAIN today to seal the deal.
UPDATE:
Todays Marca (22/8/08) has a video of Robinho stating that:
"My only objective is to leave Madrid....I want to go to Chelsea and Im very excited about playing in the Premier League....Chelsea have an offer thats good for everyone....etc etc etc"They also have another article saying that we have now offered 37m euros (aprox 29.5m quid) and that Kenyon is with Real Madrid today.

There are plenty of others who feel the same way to be fair.
