Gallini: Chelsea Big Offer for Kaka

KAKA
By dixon9 July 6 2008
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is quoted in Italian newspaper "La Stampa" that Chelsea Football Club have made a substantial offer for Kaka. The offer was made shortly after Felipe Scolari´s appointment was announced as new manager at Stamford Bridge and makes an emphatic statement of intent about the type of football the Brazilian and Abramovich want at Chelsea.

"For Kaka, a really big offer has arrived from Chelsea.”

Milan have always insisted that Kaka is not for sale and indeed the player himself has said he doesn’t want to leave.

"The fans should be happy, as all we'd need to do in order to wipe out our debts is sell Kaka and Andrea Pirlo. Instead they won't move, so if that's not a show of love for this club, I don't know what is.”

Kaka battle for the ball

Chelsea suits know there is little chance of the player leaving Milan although with their current tight financial situation and the absence of Champions League football next season for the Rossoneri, it might be worth having a go with a tempting offer.

"We do not have a transfer kitty stashed away here. Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League, the club is strengthening the squad and increasing the wages. This means we'll be £35million in the red without (owner Silvio) Berlusconi's help.”

"It is incredible that the supporters are not celebrating the arrival of Marco Borriello, who scored 19 goals last season, the fact Alexandre Pato can finally play a full campaign, Mathieu Flamini from Arsenal and World Cup winner Gianluca Zambrotta."

As a fan, I too hope something else will happen, but Milan have already reinforced their squad."

Is the offer real?  Or is this just Gallini trying some good PR to lift their disgruntled fans?

Can´t imagine we´ll get Kaka anyway - but it is certainly worth trying.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea DENY making an offer for Kaka - no quotes in the report though.

Maybe Gallini was doing some PR for the Milan fans?

Don´t understand that argument.

In any case, Chelsea apparantly DENY they made an offer.

...and now one of the other Milan suits contradicts the vice-president:

Leonardo stated: "I can only repeat what we keep saying - there is no possibility of Kaka moving away from Milan.

"We have not received an official bid for him. He is very close to AC Milan and has a very, very good relationship with the club."
