Transfer Rumours: Etoó and Robinho

SAMUEL ETOÓ

News from Spanish press concerning transfers of players from Spanish league clubs is usually picked up by the British media the next day and today there was news involving Robinho from Real Madrid and Etoó of Barcelona - BOTH being tipped for moves to Chelsea.

Etoó was an originally a very public target of Spurs not so long ago but apparently his wage demands exceeded how much Levy wanted to dip into Tottenham pockets.

With Mourinho being a fan of the Cameroon striker for some time it comes as no surprise that Inter are also supposed to be after him as well as Chelsea but Etoó has said that he wants to play in the Premier League.

Etoó would certainly fit into the profile of an “aesthetic” Chelsea and if Drogba is definitely off then a signing of his stature would be necessary.

Many of us will remember his bitter comments at Stamford Bridge after the 4-2 defeat which knocked them out of the Champions League where he unfortunately accused a steward of calling him a “Monkey of sh-t!” (Repeated exactly like this in English – not realising that an Englishman wouldn´t phrase the insult in that way!).  However, there’s no doubting his pedigree – he’s lightening quick and shows a gigantic will to win.

Robinho, Real Madrid

Robinho has already been on the radar for a few weeks now.  The player has already stated that he could go to Chelsea but his signing could largely depend on what happens with Christian Ronaldo – will the Manchester United player carry out his desire to move to Real Madrid this year and incur the wrath of Ferguson?

Real Madrid are touting massive transfer fees around and claim they’d be prepared to pay up to 70M for the player!  Now, they’d need a helping hand with the cash so don’t be surprised if Chelsea do sign Robinho for a somewhat inflated fee, thereby helping the Madrid club pay for Ronaldo – killing 2 birds with one stone – Robinho to Chelsea and Ronaldo out of the way in the PL.

Robinho plays as a forward or out wide so his signing may well have implications with regard to the future of Wright-Phillips at Chelsea – and Sean doesn’t want to go.

Ricardo Quaresema is someone I´d like to see in the mix if the Robinho deal doesn´t come off - in fact, I´d almost prefer the Porto winger but we can be sure that, again, we would face another battle with Inter for his signature.

Well I will be very delighted if Eto and Robinho join Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge.
also Chelsea must go in for Richardo Quaresema to play for them. i am a Liverpool fan but because of Michael Essien i have share my support 60% and 40% respectivly. i mean 60% for Liverpoolfc and 40% for the Blues. Good Luck Chelsea.
