Chelsea Move in for Palermo´s Amauri + Video

AMAURI CARVALHO
By dixon9 May 19 2008
Peter Kenyon is busy trying to secure the services of Brazilian striker Amauri from Palermo. The move appears to send a clear message out that the mini Blue Revolution many of us expect to take place in the summer is going to happen. Amauri has already been given the go ahead to leave and no doubt Palermo will do their best to extract the usual “Chelsea Tax” when negotiating his transfer fee.

“Serie A” is where tight marking, up your rear-end defenders give you less space than a telephone box to turn and get your shot in but 27 year old Amauri has scored an impressive 15 goals in 35 appearances.

The reason for Kenyon’s apparent haste is that the Brazilian forward has also received offers from Milan, Inter, Juventus and Fiorentina.

I greatly admired Mourinho´s player play method.  One Italian journalist described us as an armada – and there are many forms of attractive football in my book but hey ho – the big cheese wants a more aesthetic style and to be honest, as time goes by, the Mourinho ethos so firmly entrenched in our players is bound to dissipate through the course of time.

Amauri Carvalho, Chievo

So the system is going to be changed although I can’t help notice “shades of Drogba” in Amauri´s style – so if the move does happen then we can suppose that Drogba is definitely off on his toes down the Fulham Road, waving down a taxi for Heathrow – Inter bound.

Although Amauri is a Brazilian national, he is expected to obtain an Italian passport in the summer which will greatly facilitate his move to the best league in the world (Well, it is isn’t it?).
