DIDIER DROGBA
In his book, Drogba admitted he had a “jovial” conversation with an AC Milan official and Paulo Maldini two years ago after supposedly flying out for a dentists appointment (like you do!) when Jose Mourinho was at the helm of Chelsea.
Apparently, whilst having dinner with Maldini, Milan vice- president Adriano Galliani was also in the restaurant and asked Drogba when he would be joining their club – Drogba responded by asking Galliani to call chief executive Peter Kenyon to enquire after the price.

Drogba insists it was all very playful but that hasn’t stopped the media dragging a story up that is 2 years old just as the squad are making preparations for next weeks European Cup Final against Manchester United.
Mourinho found out about the “meeting” and confronted Drogba with what he had heard.
“Jose took the phone and put it on loudspeaker and said: ‘OK, seeing as we are not kids we are going to talk. I trusted you — I’ve done everything for you and there you are telling me you’re going to the dentist in Paris when in fact you’re in Milan talking over your transfer. You lied to me. You didn’t keep your word. Have you been badly brought up or what?’”
Mourinho ordered Drogba to train with the reserves and turn out for the reserves against West Ham the following night. The pair did make up of course and later, during the emotional departure of Mourinho he told Drogba:
“You are the best striker in the world and you have made yourself that player. I am very proud of you and I want you to show the world just how good you are.”
Drogba broke down in tears.

Meanwhile, back to the present (Indeed! Get a move on! –Ed) Avram Grant stated today that that he has had no contact from Milan whatsoever about Drogba.Grant said that he knew about the reports in the media but feels very strongly that every member of the squad remains committed to the club.
"I didn't see it, (Drogba´s autobiography presumably?) I need to see it and then I can answer you.”
"In the papers there is so many things, I need to check with my players what is fact and what is not. I didn't see the paper, but you know what the papers are like. “
"Up to now we have bought 600 players, and this player said this and these players have said this, for me it is more important that the players are part of the team and can deal with this.
"They are very committed, work hard and are positive, I like them. What happens off the pitch, you know what papers are like?!"
(Never quite convinces Grant, does he?!)
Drogba however, did finish his brief words with the press insisting that he will go all out to help beat Manchester United next week but remained predictably vague on the question of his future:
“The only thing I’m thinking about right now is the final. I don’t yet know what will happen in June or July.”
