Sky and Premier League Conspire Again
By Since66 April 10 2008
After the shock news about the Everton game switch from Saturday 19th April to Thursday 17th April, a game to be played three days after playing Wigan at Stamford Bridge on Monday 14th, Sky and the Premier League have pulled another 'shocking' rabbit out of the hat

Chelsea's game at Newcastle was due to be played on Saturday 3rd May. The game has been rescheduled for Monday 5th May. What day is Monday 5th May?

Yep you have guessed it - its a BANK HOLIDAY - BANK HOLIDAY Monday and Chelsea fans have to make a 600 mile round trip.

You can imagine the scenario.

Hardly no trains because of engineering works, the roads clogged with traffic because of road works and members of the public going about their holiday business.

Basically its going to be a nightmare for fans to get 'up Norf' and back again ready for work on Tuesday morning.

Fans are just a commodity. Keep the 'armchairs' happy and everything is OK!

I do feel another Chelsea 'freebie' coming on.

No wonder we have TOO many 'prawn sandwich eaters' in the Premier League nowadays.

Chelsea FC in a statement released today said, "We would like to make it clear that we opposed this particular switch as we were initially being forced to play the match at 8pm, making it impossible for our supporters to make reasonable travel arrangements, more so as this is a Bank Holiday and public transport is likely to be limited and there will be increased traffic on the roads."

"Following several days of dialogue to find a more acceptable time for our fans this has now been conceded by the various organisations and we have a confirmed kick off time of 4pm."

After our successful passage to the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night, the Everton switch doesn't look too bad now.

Although we have to play on Monday and Thursday, we don't play again until the following Tuesday 22nd April which is the date of the game at Anfield.

Five days should give the players ample opportunity to rest and get over any niggling knocks and come out at Anfield firing on all cylinders to give us fans a night to remember.

What a joke - a complete and utter joke! First everton - now this!

Why the FFFFEEEECK aren´t Man Utd and Arsenal´s fixtures arranged in this way during this part of the season? WHY IS IT ONLY US?!!!!!

It´s pretty clear that the powers that be will do what they can to make sure that any chance we have of our team receiving decent support or sufficient rest is limited as far as possible.

They might as well just hand the trophy to the Mancs now - they can then go on and sickeningly wax lyrical about their favourite team all summer.

The bias is astounding!
