Wenger is toying with the idea of putting Gilberto at the back. Come back Cygan all is forgiven.
There is not much to say in previewing this game in which Arsenal are the underdogs. Unable to score more than a goal away, or more often none at all, Arsenal have the bad luck to meet Birmingham at a time when their confidence and form have returned. With Chris Sutton and Heskey playing for the Blues the Gunners back line hardly out of nappies can expect a rough time. Let’s hope our resident gargoyle has taught them how to wrestle with the bear mountain called Heskey.
On the bright side it may be a chance to see Adebayor and Walcott, who are in the squad. Apparently Wenger is resting RvP and Ljungberg. If that’s true it’s a bit cockeyed as they usually give it more away than Pires and Bergkamp.
However it’s not all doom and gloom as Reyes and Fabregas return.
Arsene is upeat, even if the press vultures are circling - he feels the 2-3 crushing of West Ham will soon turn into a positive win.
