David Moore the Manager of Surrey Classics puts the success of his over 50s team down to the inspiration of Arsenals epic run. "We watched with interest Arsenalís amazing run of 49 games undefeated, which unfortunately came to an end last October.

We are a bunch of amateur players from British Columbia, Canada, and our team is a subtle blend of English ex-Pats, locals, Germans, an Australian, an Italian and a South African and we play in an Over 50ís league.

We would like to thank the whole Arsenal team for giving up inspiration and a will to succeed." The Surrey Classics went one better last Sunday when they broke the Gunners record, going 50 games without defeat, a run which started back in February 2003.

David hopes Gunners fans will "acknowledge our marvellous achievement as you know it is very difficult to attain, whatever level of football you play
at."

Details of the teamís achievements can be found at their website.

Apparently Arsenal fans can relax, as they have no intention of poaching the best player in the world. David Moore told Arsenal Times:

"We have no intention of approaching Thierry Henry as we are doing quite
well without him."

Wow thatís a relief.
