And we're through with minimal fuss. I'd forgotten what it feels like to win a European knockout tie.
Ratings:
Ospina - 7. Milan goal was difficult but he made one really good save in the second half, as well as a few bread and butter stops.
Bellerin - 6. Okay. Mustafi - 7. Did well. Koscielny - N/A. Went off injured early. Monreal - 7. Did well.
Xhaka - 8. Had another good game. Scored. Ramsey - 6. Okay. Could've scored two in the second half.
Ozil - 6. Okay but end product was lacking. Wilshere - 6. Okay. Had a good effort saved in the first half. Did well on the final goal. Mkhitaryan - 7. Worked hard and looked dangerous again.
Welbeck - 7. Dived to win a penalty, which he took well. Worked hard all evening. Scored his second late on.
Subs:
Chambers - 7. Did well. Elneny - 5. Okay. Kolasinac - N/A. Not on long.
I thought Ospina should have done a lot better on their goal.
Contcat was made with Welbeck and it caused him to go over, the 4th official was right there, but lets see what ITV say later tonight.
I thought they fell apart not long after we equalised

Having seen the ITV replay it was only the slightest of contact that was made. Welbeck made the best of it and was lucky to get a pen.But the defender should have more sense, what is the point of brushing your arm across an attacker if you are not attempting to impede them

A lot of people think Ospina should've done better on their goal and I agree he probably should've. I thought he should've after seeing it in real time, but after seeing the replays there was a lot of swerve on it. Difficult one but I'm trying to be understanding as I don't rate Ospina at all.
You're right, Welbeck made the most of it but why else would Rodriguez put his arm across him if not to stop him? He's entitled to. At the end of the day I'm very happy for Welbeck and I'm happy we've gone through.
From where I was, initial reaction was a pen, but having seen it back it wasn't. I don't think it was a dive per se, but I think he was just going to go down in frustration at the ball getting away from him. Not sure he expected it to be given. Hard to know, but after years of watching teams cheat to beat us at the is point I honestly don't care.
Also thought Ospina should have done better with the goal, He was hardly at full stretch, had bad positioning and seemed slow to react.
dont love ospina but to be fair to him that ball hit the literal corner of the goal. caught a little post. he was slow to react but that was as well placed of a shot as there could have been.
definite dive for welbeck. maybe he was just falling because the ball got away but thats a harsh call.
on the whole though we were the better side, so i think its a fair result.
