Alexis Not MotM Player Ratings v Crisp Money

Below are some random thoughts from regular AT Contributor Merlion, and his player ratings. Leicester City 0 Arsenal 0

Both Alexis and Walcott played in a highly individualistic manner, and played with their blinkers on, hardly had any peripheral vision to see their team-mates waiting for a cut-back and a cross when waiting unmarked in the centre. Both of them were obsessed with shooting at goal.

Both Alexis and Walcott played with their heads DOWN when driving at goal with only one thought ... to shoot at goal regardless.

No wonder there is no link-up play with Midfield-3 and Alexis.

It needed an Ozil to knit this team together.
Potentially, Wilshere is the next player that can do that.

Arsenal play Crab Football, attempting to square pass the balls into the box.
Whereas Man U, Man City and Chelsea coach players to make themselves available to receive through balls, accurate crosses and balls threaded behind defenders.

Cech - 6 - was fine, didnt do anything really

Bellerin - 5 - Was OK. Clear-cut penalty but Clatterberg's view was blocked.
Holding - 6 - Gave away 2 dangerous freekicks in 2 games. Too much jersey pulling in the box.
Kos - 8 - MOTM, bossed the game
Monreal - 6 - Didnt do much either, decent defensively and inept crossing.

Xhaka - 6 - He was pretty average. one really bad giveaway but the game passed him by.
Coq - 6 - Pretty average as well, should have came off, deserved a second yellow
Cazorla - 6 - Main reason why we are inept in creative playmaking. Come back Ramsey.

Theo - 5 - work hard in tracking back and was not afraid to go in for 50:50 balls.
OX - 6 - Inconsistent and ineffectual.
NMotM Alexis - 4 - Bewildered and hardly making an attempt to link up with Midfield three.

Jack - 6 - Flashy and no substance but add impetus to attack and break pattern of Crab Football.
Ozil - 7.5 - was magical, not much else you can say
Giroud - 6 - Obviously should have started.
