Time For Change* Welbz MotM Player Ratings

I've found myself saying this a lot lately, but that was another of the worst games I can recall watching in recent time. It was what seems to have become the usual story against "lesser sides". They sat deep, we were slow and sluggish in possession, played in front of them and struggled to create. This is just one of the many reasons it is the time for change. We're just so static at times and it is awful to watch.

I have been a supporter of both Giroud and Welbeck since they signed for us, but Giroud starting over him in the last three games has really made me mad. Welbeck's return from injury has been one of the few positives of this season. I have been baffled and infuriated as to why he has been dropped to the bench for the last few games, especially after Wenger outright said that Giroud "cannot score" last week, so I'm overjoyed that Welbz came off the bench to win the game. Also, I notice Welbeck being dropped has coincided with Iwobi's loss of form...

Cech and Koscielny very good, the midfield okay but needed more going forward, Alexis and Ozil poor, Giroud awful, shout out to Gabriel for his amazing tackle, Welbeck changed the game*.

RATINGS

Cech - 7. Kept us in the game with a couple of good saves from Redmond in the first half.

Bellerin - 6. Okay, but he really, really needs to improve his crossing as it is diabolical. Good ball for Welbeck's winner though.
Mertesacker - 6. Solid before going off injured.
Koscielny - 7. Thought he was faultless throughout. Won everything.
Monreal - 6. Lost Redmond twice at the back post in the first half, otherwise okay. Made some good tackles.

Elneny - 6. Passed safely but we needed more creativity going forward.
Ramsey - 6. Retained possession well and maintained his defensive/ positional discipline throughout, but again, we needed a spark.

Alexis - 5. Always a hard worker but it just didn't happen for him today.
Ozil - 5. Quiet and final ball was poor. Looked very frustrated.
Iwobi - 5. Energetic but lacked end product.

Giroud - 4. Excellent knockdown for Welbeck's winner, otherwise appalling.

Subs:

Gabriel - 6. Actually did well when he came on, including a superb game saving tackle on Mbokani.
Welbeck - 6. He should've started and has looked very annoyed recently on the bench. Changed the game when he came on though because of his willingness to drive and run. Scored the winner. Must start against Man City.
Coquelin - N/A. Not on long
