A very cold mid March day warmed up by three spectacular goals, but none of them scored by Walcott who probably had the easiest chances. After the game opinion was divided on Ozil's performance. Welbeck got a great reception when he came on and Arsenal seemed to play more freely with him and Carzorla on the pitch. This time there was less of a rush for sweets after the game, clearly a more satisfying result. Shane's ratings follow:
Ospina - 6. Didn't have much to do but did it well.
Chambers - 5. Looked a little suspect positionally and did not contribute much to defence or attack. I don't like him at right-back.
Per - 7. Solid enough.
Koscielny - 7.5. Also solid but just had that bit more to do than Per throughout the 90 minutes.
Monreal - 6. Didn't get forward as much, whether that was his choice or Wenger's tactics I don't know. Grand game.
Coquelin - 7. Fairly standard game for Coquelin. Had more to do in the second half but did it well.
Ramsey - 7. Decent goal but looked a bit sh*t overall in my view.
Ozil - 5. I wanted a good performance from him this afternoon because you want him to be confident ahead of Tuesday, but he was ridiculously wasteful throughout. Really poor.
Sanchez - 6. Nowhere near his best. Hopefully he's keeping some of that famous energy in reserve for midweek.
Theo - 5. Like Ozil, ridiculously wasteful in the final third, but hopefully that'll improve as he gets more minutes under his belt.
Giroud - 8. You could tell he was on it from the first minute and proceeded to have play a big role in all three goals. Brilliant.
