Our resident rater seems to be stuck on the number six, or perhaps that was all that eight players were worth, apart from those he had it in 4, and Sanchez 8. Personally my only disagreement was with Sanchez, he was worth at least 10 and the wages of the rest of the team. He worked hard, chased and harried, created chances and scored two very important goals. I watched the game on the Big Screen at the Emirates, and the second goal had the crowd in hoots of laughter, no one will be wanting Mannone back now. Sadly for Sunderland they were getting into the game and putting Arsenal nerves on edge when Sanchez poached his second goal of the game. This guy looks the business, lets hope its not a false dawn. Without further ado Eddy's ratings follow:
Szczesny 6 - ok, little to do, one silly moment
Chambers 6 - solid performance
Mertesacker 6 - improved performance
Monreal 6 - solid performance
Gibbs 6 - joined attacked a lot in first half, off injured again
Arteta 6 - ok but added little
Flamini 6 - ok but added little
Oxlade-Chamberlain 3 - woeful performance
Alexis 8 - our best player, scored both our goals after two Sunderland mistakes, tired in second half
Cazorla 4 - poor performance
Welbeck 4 - poor performance
Subs
Bellerin 6 - ok
Ramsey n/a - only on a few minutes
Rosicky n/a - only on a few minutes
