In the past Wenger lite teams have managed to beat strong opposition at home, but this time perhaps it was the squad that was  too lite. Indeed last week the lite nature of his squad was exposed in Germany. One again we have situation where we have to have to play the best eleven if the team are to win. Anyway maybe one competition less will be an advantage, anyway its not worth worrying about, what is important is how well did those looking for a first team place perfrom; so here are the ratings:

Ospina 6 - average

Bellerin 6.5 - couple of good attacking runs
Chambers 6 - ok
Hayden 6.5 - looked good
Coquelin 6 - ok

Diaby 6.5 - good first half
Wilshere 6 - lost the ball far too much, should have closed down the clyne shot
Rosicky 2 - silly stupid foul for the penalty, and that was the sum of his impact on the game

Campbell 6 - very left footed which left him easy to defend against, was keen and tried hard but little impact
Alexis 7 - extra point for the goal, good work rate spoilt by awful passing from him
Podolski 2 - woeful

Subs
Cazorla 5 - looked up for it but that only lasted a few minutes
Oxlade-Chamberlain 5 - couple of good runs
Akpom n/a - only on a few minutes
