Ignore rumours Wenger blesses every minute signing Arshavin

Fair player
By Boris Mellor
February 2 2010
There are some rumours doing the rounds that Wenger doesn't like Arshavin, that the wee Russian feels unloved by Arsene. Well if Arshavin does feel that way, which I suspect isn't the case, all he has to do is read the programme of the 19 December 2009 and he will be assured that his manager is his greatest admirer.
After Arshavin scored the winner against Liverpool Wenger wrote in his manager's notes for the Hull City game:

"Andrey Arshavin scored the winner last weekend and I bless every minute of when I signed him. I like the player, I like his commitment, I like his fairness, the way he behaves on the pitch, and the way he puts his foot in and fights for the team. I'm so happy that I signed him".

There there little Gooner (Gooner said in heavy Russian accent) don't believe any nasty rumours, your manager loves you. I can't remember Arsene praising a player who is current with the team in such an enthusiastic manner.

I think it's time to stop the rumours, we are having a rough patch creating friction between the manager and a great player will not help anyone.

Theres a lot of old sh*t talked by Arsenal fans as well. 'Laziness', etc etc.

Arshavin as he showed repeatedly on Sunday in the first half hour is a world class performer, he rolled his marker about 4 times and with better luck could have had us 2-0 up before United found their groove.

You dont get players like that come to your club every week so people should stop complaining.

I've heard Arshavin is unhappy at Arsenal, not Wenger is unhappy with him. I know he did an interview back in the summer pleading with Wenger to buy some players - it went on deaf ears "what a surprise," and now with his wages cut in half by 50%, I would imagine he'll be off with Fabregas at the end of the season. I've heard Barcelona and Real will battle it out for the Spainard, but I've heard nothing about interest from Spain for the Russian. I'd say at a guess he'll go to Italy to one of the big 3, or, let's not hope he's on Man City's radar - mind you, they only seem to be interested in our@#$%&players.

This rumor was started by Pyles Murmur on his that piece of shite internet rag he calls (I assume with his tongue firmly in his cheek) "Arsenal News Review". For a long time he's claimed Wenger never wanted to sign Arshavin, and that Arshavin was signed by Gazidis and not Le Boss.

He also claims Wenger has too much power at Arsenal. Now, if we agree that Wenger has too much power, then surely no one can force a player on him?

Besides, anyone who's seen Wenger and Arshavin celebrate a goal can attest that there is real affection there.

So, what is your point?

4 shots at goal, all off-target.

How many assists?
When was his last goal..against Liverpool???

fabregas carried the TEAM for the pst few months.
And when hsi goal scorign spree dried up, there is nobody to continue.
And we expect Arshavin to score.

Since van Persie went off injured, it will be interesting to know how many goals scored and how many assists from Arshavin.

Arshavin is disruptive to team-play, and has yet to bring his team-mates into play.
he is a worldclass creative player; and last season he shown us what he is capable of with hsi unpredictability and breathe-taking skills in gliding past palyers like a knife thru' hot butter.

That's what is missing from Arshavin for the past few months.
Where is that creativeness to bring players into play for the past few months?

Same old same old Arsenal.
66% possession in sideways and backwards passes, 11 shots at goal.
But opponent beat 'em by just 3 shots at goal during counter-attack.

Sudnay palys were a repeat of 2008/09 season - pass..pass..pass..pass...pass...no peentration, no one-two into the box.
Crosses from Sagna,
Crosses from Clichy (amybe only 1 or 2)

Contrast that to Nani, taking on players and driving into the box.
The only real cross form him resulted into an owned goal.

if Arshavin had done a "Nani" at the other end......
And Rosicky had done a "Park"....

And of course, we don't have a "Whoremonger" - the focus of ManLeeds' counter-attacking play..

And Clichy is not "Evra".
Plus Denilson is not "Fletcher".

myles palmer is always spouting this bull about Wenger not liking Arshavin and in fact was at it again yesterday and backed up his claim by saying that wenger did not mention Arshavin for three weeks at his press conferences after he signed him, myles is a turd and by the tone of most of his posts is a Chelsea fan, he does admit he is not an Arsenal fan, never says who he does support but he gushes about Chelsea alot.

Oh Glenhelderswages the only way Arshavins wages would be cut in half with the new 50% tax is if he was paying no tax at all before this, must be a lucky boy, his wages will only decreas by the difference in the tax he was paying and will pay now, was it not 40% already, so only 10% more and for these mega rich footballers it aint as if they will be on the bread line, for christ's sake our 19 year old Jay Emmanule-Thomas who only has played once for the first team drives a £100K car and his wages would be minute in comparison to Arshavin, so boo hoo if AA or any of the rest of these over paid footballers in england think they are beign hard done by with the tax increase.

And Spain will increase their tax rate to 43%.

Funnily, with his dismal performances for the past few months, his agent is pretty quiet over pay-rise.

Unliek alsts eason when he was on a scintillating run, scoring freely, there were plenty of rumbligns voer pay-cut, losing money coming to Arsenal and his first love is Barca, don't mind playing in Spain, blah, blah...

Res ta ssure that comes April, and if he is on another scintillaitng run, scorign freely, etc...his agent and his blog will have plenty comments on Spain and moaning over loss of icnome, blah..blah..

Do recalled that before he moved to Arsenal, he said he was determined to come to England for the sake of hsi fmaily, i.e. to learn English Language, an international language to him.

Eduardo-nobody pays taxes in Russia.
At least that's what it was like when I lived there
some years back.
I'm sure Arshavin can muddle through on whatever he
earns a week.

its easy for the media to come up with all this crap. i feel arshavin is either a loner or no player likes to hang around him. i can't remember when he scored last and his teams went on a wild frenzy celebrating with him. and he doesn't do that either when others score. on the other hand, wenger has never goshed about him the way he goshes about some incompetent players who have nothing to offer arsenal but heartaches.

arshavin's heart is no more here cos wenger failed to buy the quality players that will make the difference. and too his failed to inspire russia to the WC.

i often wonder if players who know that its only at arsenal will they ever smell playing time, will ever be sincere enough to acknowledge they are crap.

Porblem with communicating in English?

Like Reyes, kinda tough for him in an alien environment; especially his first oversea stint at such a late age.

I dont care what he says off the pitch. But he has to improve on it. Hes almost 29 not much time to develop, but if he can just learn to concentrate and play those final balls better or get his shots on target (i.e. @ Anfield) he will be irreplaceable but at the moment, he is inconsistent and has a poor work rate off the ball.

Havent heard anyone say anything of a rift between Arshavin and Wenger though? Just more media twisting words probably

Steady on mate I am simply making the point that an element of negativity surrounds Mr Arshavin in many areas. Something I personally cant understand. He is one of the main reasons I turn up every week.

As if to prove my point, loads of negative posts have turned up in this thread.

That's the fun over here.

1,001 people, 1,001 opinions.

No point in wrenching our shoulders by trying to pat our back all the time.

One man's meat is another one poison.

And yes, the reason I am at Arsenal is anticipating and waiting for Wenger to nurture, coach, motivate and cajole this group of youngsters into full maturity when they hit their peak at 24 to 27 year old.

it is like gardening, slowly selecting, trimming, graft, step by step...and you will eventually have a garden of your making.

Unfortunately that weed is like carpet-grass.
It enhances the beauty of the garden.

Like japanese garden, every rock and every bonsai has its place in nature:
Balance, harmony, a sense of well-being.

The main bad points about Arshavin is that for a player of his ability and experience he doesn't get involved nearly enough during most games and that for a player who has been at Arsenal for a year now, he isn't on the same wavelength as Cesc and other Arsenal players a lot of the time during games.

The number of times I've torn my hair out watching him make a run sideways when Cesc or someone else has played the right ball perfectly a couple of yards forward of where he was and where he should have gone to.

On Sunday Clichy burst past ManU's midfield on the left and was cutting in on goal about 40 yards out. All Arshavin had to do was run out of the inside left channel and into the box leaving Clichy in acres of space to run into. Instead, for some reason, Arshavin ran out towards the corner flag and Clichy played him the ball. Danger over. I don't know what Arshavin was thinking.

Sometimes Arshavin's lack of awareness is almost as infuriating as Adebayor's was when he was getting caught offside all the time.

Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas: I Have Never Hidden The Fact That I Want To Return To Barcelona

Arsenal's midfield maestro spoke of his possible future in Spain...

By Cyrus C. Malek

As both Barcelona and Real Madrid push for the signature of Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas next summer, the Barcelona-based daily Sport has released a report in which the young Gunner expresses his desire to return to Barcelona.

Responding to questions on Catalunya Radio, Fabregas commented on his possible Blaugrana future. "Barcelona is the best city in the world to live in and the quality of life is great. I know it very well. I do not like the climate in London, but as a city it is spectacular. When I retire, I will live in Bareclona."

Fabregas then issued comments that seemed to indicate his desire to wear a Barca shirt next season. "I have never hidden the fact that I want to return to Barcelona. Since I was nine months old, my grandfather would take me to the Barca stadium and all my life I have worn the Blaugrana colours. For one motive or another I had to go, but one never knows what can happen."

At 22 years old, Fabregas stated: "I'm in the best form of my career, individually speaking, and I want to keep my mind in the present. There are four months of competition and we are doing well as a team. I want to be calm and to be able to centre myself in the Premier and in the Champions so that I can arrive at the World Cup in good form, that is another of my priorities."

With respect to his future next summer, Fabregas insisted no discussions had yet come up. "No one has called me - not me nor my agent, although I only speak of what I know."

********************************************************

That was the key paragraph, meaning:

Fabregas wants regular and successful football;
To play in a successful team with at least a CUp FInal every season.

he kenw that if he returns to Barca within the next 3 eyars, he will be playing 2nd fiddle to the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Busquet.

Spending bench time at Barca, rather than 1st name on the starter list at Arsenal.

He knew that he is the FUCLRUM at Arsenal, with the team building around him and it is up to him to leave an enduring legacy, a living LEGEND, seeking and finding immortality in the annals of World Football History.

Time is on his side, he is 22 year-old, and has yet his physical peak, still learning his trade, improving all the time and has yet fully blossoom to reach the apex at 24-27 year-old.

Not a complete midfield general, but certainly will become one under Wenger's tutelage for another 2 to 3 years.
that is, the next 2 to 3 seasons at Arsenal is Fabreags' Finishing School.

And we will then lose Fabregas to Barca if we are till interested in Top-4,and not cosnsistently winning title and/or CL Cup every season.

That is, Fabregas will stay and retire at Barca, only and only if Fabregas believes and see "tanglible results" that Arsene Wenger's vision si true - building hsi 3rd and greatest team that will dominate Europe and league for years.
