Could this be the game in hand as BBC confuses things?

Frozen out

If Arsenal's game goes ahead, and that could be a big if with more snow still expected tomorrow, it will mean the team has played the same number of games as Chelsea. If the Gunners win the game then they will be one point behind Chelsea. A lot of ifs there, so we will have to be patient.

At the time of writing BBC website "Lawro Predicts"

Claims the Arsenal game is off, but no other site says that. Sky says the game is still on, as does Arsenal.com. But for those who think I am imagining it here is the copy from their prediction site at 8.30 pm:

             "Arsenal v Everton

Verdict: 2-0

           Postponed for safety reasons "

I rang Arsenal TV live to check it, but they didn't know anything, other pages of the BBC state the game is on. Thanks BBC.

So it doesn't put me in a great mood for writing a preview on a game with a question mark on

At the start of the of the Xmas programme Villa were the form team, Arsenal put an end to that. Birmingham also became a form team, but two draws saw them drop one below Arsenal in the six game form table. The Gunners are now the form team of the New Year with five wins and one draw in the Premiership. In spite of injuries and no real strikers the Gunners have pushed on.

Against Everton Arsenal will be missing both Song and Fabregas, I would not like to be without either for very long, but the performances of Ramsey and Diaby would seem to make that less of a concern. The only change from the players available for the cancelled Bolton game is that Rosicky is available and Wilshere is not.

However, Everton are not on good form this season, and have suffered a lot of injuries. Last season Everton only lost two games away.  This season they have already lost five and only won two. So even though Cahill is a bogey player against Arsenal an Everton win would be very unlikely.

Of course a draw at home, in a game that has almost become the game in hand, is not good enough. Arsenal need to win by as big a goal margin as possible. Assuming the game goes ahead it will take place in miserable conditions. The temperature will not go above freezing, there could be snow during the game, and a lot of fans will have been unable to get in from the Home Counties. On the plus side it will be one of the very few games played, so perhaps we can have some decent analysis on MOTD at last.

A win needed as I think Brum have a good chance of taking points off UTd too so we could be second by one point and ahead of utd with a game in hand on them.

With the game on at 3 there is a better chance it will go ahead cos fans would still have much longer to get transport home.

BBC pi$$ me off, there is no way of contacting them on their website, I am sure its an error

The game is about Glory. It is about doing things in style with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom".

Lets be straight about this. Mark Lawrenson is a prancing c8nt who gets the simplest things in life wrong.

If he says the match is OFF, I shall make sure I am on my way to it first thing tomorrow morning.
