Happy Home Coming?
Funny thing is he stopped jeering when Nick scored; he was so in the pink after the big Dane's goal that he forgot all the threats to his manhood that the boots signified.
The Real Reason
Anyhow those fans who are so worried that Nick might lose his manly ways needn't worry, for the real reason for wearing the boots came out this week, they match his nose after he has been out nightclubbing, and Nick hates a colour clash.
What worries me, more than the boots, is does this revelation explain why he was pants at Man City? I hope that there is no truth in claims that discipline is beginning to break down in the squad. Once players start to get up to this sort of thing it can be the beginning of the end for a manager. This squad is weak enough without players being below par because they are overdoing the booze.
Chelsea Preview
Chelsea enter this game unbeaten in their last five games, whilst Arsenal have only won one in five, and could lose three in a row. I can't remember the last time that happened, if ever, under Wenger. Even so Chelsea's recent results have not been brilliant; Newcastle got a draw there by playing just for that. They parked the bus in front of goal and hardly had a shot. Also in Europe the Blues have been stodgy and only just grinding out the points.
However as Captain Fabregas says Arsenal do not go anywhere for a draw, they only play for a win. If Chelsea go at the Gunners it could give them a chance. It is expected that Adebayor, Sagna and Nasri will all return, hopefully that will give the team a boost.
These games are often decided by who is available on the bench, that certainly was the case last year. The injury to Sagna completed undermined Arsenal, whilst the Chelsea substitutes drove them onto victory.
It looks like Arsene can put out a reasonable first eleven, but after that I am not sure that anyone from the bench will prove to be a match winner. Nonetheless if pink nose can prove me wrong I will be happy to eat humble flan. No doubt the game will be played at a frenetic pace and may prove to be as tight as most pundits, apart from the bookies, expect.
No team has taken as many points off Chelsea in the Premiership as Arsenal; however the last few years have seen that tally slow down a bit. Normally a draw would be a good result, and if top four is the only ambition then that will be the case. Nevertheless any ambition to win the league will hardly be furthered by a draw, and defeat will as good as finish it.
Boo Fest
As usual Gunners will boo Anelka and Cole, my advice is leave Anelka alone, we don't want to wake him up - he scores every 93 minutes. Meanwhile the Chav's might be booing our Willy for the things he has written in his book. Apparently Wenger is buying it, I will not as my kitchen table stands level and doesn't need any adjustment.
The players available include:
Almunia, Sagna, Silvestre, Gallas, Clichy, Nasri, Denilson, Fabregas, Vela, van Persie, Adebayor, Fabianski, Song, Djourou, Ramsey, Bendtner, Gibbs, Hoyte, Wilshere.
