Media Release From BFC Regards Parking For The Bolton Game

December 21 2009
All supporters travelling to Turf Moor on Boxing Day are being advised to arrive early as there are NO buses running in the town. The Barclays Premier League game against Bolton Wanderers on December 26 is already a complete sell-out. With public transport severely affected, town centre car parks will be open as usual.

However, they will charge for entry and are expected to be extremely busy, as this is a major shopping day.

Burnley Football Club recommends the Aircelle car park, which is around a 15 minute walk from Turf Moor.

Below is a list of the town centre car parks open on Boxing Day.
Aircelle Ltd, Bancroft Ave, BB10 2TQ.
Capacity: 275 cars
Advantage: Away from city centre traffic, close to motorway after the game ahead of traffic flow.
15 minute walk or hop on local bus (3 minute journey).
Cost £3.
Millennium NCP, Brown St, BB11 1PZ.
Capacity: 500 cars
Advantage: Town centre location, close to all the shops and fast food outlets.
8 minutes walk from the stadium.
Cost £3 to park.
Deanmill (Plumb St) Car Park, BB11 3AG.
Capacity: 100 cars
Advantage: Close to stadium, new car park, secure, well lit.
4 minute walk from stadium.
Cost £4

I'd say 90% of the shops will be open on Boxing Day.

The thing that I spotted was the bit about car parks charging on Boxing Day. Is Boxing Day not a bank holiday this year?

Boxing day isn't a bank holiday as it falls on a saturday but Monday 28th is a bank holiday in lieu of Boxing day.
Shops will be open as the sales traditionally start on boxing day.
