Ex-Clarets Andy Payton and Mick Docherty will be providing a taster of the after dinner routine which they are aiming to take on the road in coming months. Docherty played for Burnley a total of 174 times between 1968 and 1976 winning promotion with the club in 1972-73. He was a strong defensive player breaking into the side aged 18 against Stoke City. He scored his only Burnley goal in the Anglo scottish cup against Hearts. When John Angus retied in 1971 Burnley had a ready made replacement in the shape of Docherty. After finishing his playing career he worked as assistant manager under Casper at Burnley and also followed another Burnley legend Stan Ternent to Hull, Huddersfield, Bury and Burnley.
The Padiham Predator Andy Payton started his footballing career at Burnley. Playing for Hull, Middlesborough, Celtic, Barnsley and Huddersfield. He finally returned home in 1998 in a swap deal that saw Paul Barnes crossing the pennines. He was an integral part of the side that gained promotion back to the Championship in 2000 and his goalscoring prowess ensured that the local boy certainley "done good"
