Besart Berisha Is Back On Monday
By TheLongside.co.uk
December 5 2008
Besart Berisha returns to his English club on Monday because of a muscle injury in his leg which prevents him from playing against FC Copenhagen. It is always a little bit sad to leave after familiarizing with a new place, a new club and new people.

Berisha_120607_a

All in all I have enjoyed my stay here, says the 23-year old. He joined Rosenborg August 8th and had an incredible debut against Molde, scoring two goals.

In hindsight, I have thought that the debut maybe have been slightly too good. But after it went a little downhill for a while, I felt that I have gradually come back and that everything improved for me within the club. I have got good friends here, friends that I will have for a long time. I would have liked to stay here, he says. This is not only because of the club, the Albanian has previously played for a danish club, and simply likes the Scandinavian way of life.

I like the mentality here and I like the city of Trondheim. People are very relaxed and down to earth. It was a change for me to come here, because in England it is not like this at all, but I think it is very comfortable here, he says.

It was Erik Hamrén who knew of Berisha after being his manager in Aalborg. Berisha had hoped for more game-time when he was brought in on a loan, but he has more or less agreed with the manager with the choice of attackers this autumn.

Obviously I wanted to play more, but Konan Ya and Iversen has been a very good duo, and when I see them play that well I understand why I have not played more, he says, and adds that he wishes to thank the manager for giving him a chance here in Rosenborg.

When he now goes back to England it is just to move out his things and say hello to the Burnley crew again. While his injury heals he will be in Germany.

I have my family in Berlin, and this is a good time to see them before I get started in Burnley again. Burnley is doing great in the championship and it will be fun to get back again, he says. He is also optimistic on behalf of Rosenborg:

Even if this season has not been quite up to expectations, I think the club will bounce back. Everyone in Norway expects Rosenborg to be number one in the country, and I think they will achieve success very shortly, he completes.

reading between the lines i dont think i will see him play a competative game for burnley.

you would expect for him to be saying he is raring to go for his club but he just mentions how much he prefers scandanavia to england, his heart isnt it it imo

File under 'Gentile'. I don't think we'll get to know how good, or bad, he would have been for us.

The worst signing in the history of the club.

Have we ever signed a player, for money, that has never played for the club?

Agree with TUW.

Clearly signed with no research or scouting on the back of one game against a disenterested England B side who had never played together before.

The obsession with him on CM is ridiculous.

I don't think that Berisha want to play, seems like he has more loyalty to norway than England. We have a good side now which is working, so why upset the apple cart is someone is not prepared to give the full 100%?

I think the telling factor in the Berisha saga is that two managers (Both BYMOTP and OC) looked at him in two seperate pre-seasons and decided that he wasn't good enough for Burnley.

An enormous waste of money by SC

Just to clear this up, if a player is playing well i'll say so, if he isn't i'll say so.

Pato hadn't been doing the business, was dropped, is now back into the side and doing the business(the goals against Derby were proper goals).....have you seen me moaning about him?

All i want him to do is score goals, i don't give a toss about harrassing defenders, working the channels(whatever this means?) and never giving up. I'm happy for him to sit on a deck chair on the penalty spot as long as when he is given service he scores the goals.

I also advocated dropping Pato at the time, because he is there to contribute goals and he wasn't doing it.
On the same vein, I also feel that Thompson isn't the answer for us either, and so far he hasn't done enough for me to justify his place in our starting eleven. If he gets a hat-trick on Saturday and starts scoring regularly then I will be the first to hold my hand up. But until then he needs to impress off the bench - like Eagles, Paterson & McDonald have done.
