The reward for our victory over Chelsea is a home tie to the young guns of Arsenal, the Carling Cup 5th Round Tie will be played on Tuesday 2nd of December kick off 19-45. The game will also be shown live on Sky. Tickets for the tie will go on sale this Wednesday to season ticket holders.

Incidentally the last time Burnley played Arsenal in the League Cup was also in the 5th Round 41 years ago. It was at the time when replays were allowed, the first match was at Turf Moor on Wednesday 29th November 1967, played in front of a crowd of 16,032, the game finished 3-3 the Burnley goals coming from Lochhead, O'Neil, and Irvine.

The replay was on the following Tuesday 5th December when Arsenal went through in front of a crowd of 36,570 by 2 goals to 1, Willie Irvine scoring the Burnley goal.
Since the draw which was made last Saturday, there has been much debate about the merits of the tie, just shows how high the expectations are amongst Clarets supporters these days when a cup tie against one of the Premierships so called top four doesn't seem to capture the imagination like it used to do.
Personally I am very pleased with the prospects of Burnley playing the Arsenal youngsters, and I also think we have a good chance of progressing, after all how many youngsters will relish the thoughts of making the long midweek journey up North on a cold winters December night, and facing a game against a very tough Burnley side. I just wonder how many of the so called elite will NOT be wearing gloves.
As an aside this game will allow us to see how far last seasons Arsenal loanee Mark Randall has progressed since returning to his club.
Come on Burnley you can just do this.

Burnley have to come to stay in the minds of football loving fans as a great club .It may be Chelsea or Liverpool ,Burnley are here to perform and make their adversaries to regret . Young guns at the Turf will be vanguished easily .

The good part is that the match will be shown live in Mauritius and other African countries .

Looking like a sell-out already.

If the fans get behind the team, as they did at Chelsea, they could just make the difference & get us into dreamland....& the money.

No reason why we should not win
these kids will one day lose a game
we have players who can turn a game in an instant
Coyle has the mystical elusive 'lucky' touch that just a handful of managers seem to have
If Randall is as ineffective as he was here thats a ten man team they're putting out
