He took an active part in the tour scoring goals against Kaiser Chiefs and Portsmouth.

Born in Hemel Hampstead he made his way through Watford's youth ranks before joining the youth acadamy aged 14 at Manchester United.

He has recently completed loan spells with Watford and Dutch side, NEC Nijmegen and has scored 9 goals in 76 league appearances.

On the signing, Owen Coyle told the official website:

"It's a substantial sum of money, with adds-ons included, but I think it is fair to say that we have finally landed one of our major targets,"

"I have to say that Sir Alex Ferguson has been absolutely fantastic. He has helped us to facilitate the move and I would like to go on record to thank him and Manchester United Football Club for the way they have helped us to seal the deal."

And on trying to lower the age of the squad:

"...we have set or stall out to try to bring younger footballers to the club and develop the team to build it year on year."
