Transfer Activity Hotting Up At Turf Moor?
By TheLongside.co.uk January 15 2008
Stanislav Varga's loan deal to Burnley from Sunderland has so far been the only deal for the Clarets during the January transfer window although if reports and rumours are to believed there could soon be plenty of incoming and outgoing activity at Turf Moor.

Many names have been mentioned as transfer targets.  We have had a bid believed to be around £400,000 refused by Sheffield Wednesday for 23 year old midfielder Glenn Whelan.  Also rumoured to be attracting Owen Coyle's attention are midfielder Barry Robson from Dundee United and striker Derek Riordan from Celtic.

Three trialists have also arrived at Turf Moor and will be involved in a behind-closed-doors match tonight.  They are believed to be Swedish striker Olof Guterstam, Portuguese defender Ricardo Emído Ramalho Silva and Sparta Prague midfielder Martin Abraham.

Operations Manager Brendan Flood has stated that the club are looking at signing three players with two of them hopefully available for the away match on Saturday against Coventry City.

Although Owen Coyle recently suggested that no bids had been placed for his players if reports are to be believed a bid could very soon be tabled for Burnley's leading striker Andy Gray.

According to The South London Press Charlton Athletic are closing in on the striker with a bid above £1.5 million pounds.

Certainly Gray would be a big loss to the Clarets having scored 27 goals in 62 starts for the Clarets since his signing from Sunderland in 2006.

Other rumours of David Unsworth signing for Preston North End and Robbie Blake moving to Derby County have been dismissed by Coyle.

Time will tell if any of these rumours are correct but it certainly seems that there could be plenty of activity at Turf Moor over the next few days.

As per your report ,it seems more of our key players are to leave our squad and some uncertain players are to join us . It looks that we are more the losers .How come that they can improve their results?
