Ben May can’t do much more can he? A howitzer that Ipswich boss Joe Royle described as “a wonder goal” and yet he’s still not a first choice striker. Obviously, that’s why we’ve brought in Carl Asaba.
Ben May can’t do much more can he? A howitzer that Ipswich boss Joe Royle described as “a wonder goal” and yet he’s still not a first choice striker. Obviously, that’s why we’ve brought in Carl Asaba.
On current form, May’s the pick of our strikers, not just because of his goal against Ipswich but also because of his pre-season efforts.
Barry Hayles is putting in plenty of effort but seemed to lose belief after grafting away upfront on his own in Colin Lee’s ill-fated 4-5-1 formation.
But May he’s like a prize fighter, who won’t stay down. A succession of manager – apart from Claridge – have decided he’s not quite good enough for this level, but Ben keeps bouncing back to prove them wrong.
It’s about time he got an extended run-out in the ring!
