Kuyt win MVP 2006 award

Feyenoord and Holland striker Dirk Kuyt is voted as the most valuable player in Holland. PSV midfielder Philip Cocu came second and surprisingly enough AZ left back Tim de Cler came third.

Feyenoord and Holland striker Dirk Kuyt is voted as the most valuable player in Holland. PSV midfielder Philip Cocu came second and surprisingly enough AZ left back Tim de Cler came third.
Jefferson Farfan (PSV), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Ajax), Kenneth Perez and Shota Arveladze (AZ) were firm favourites for a place in the top three but Kuyt, Cocu and De Cler finished as the three best players in the Dutch league.
Dirk Kuyt responded in typical style to the news: "This is the best inidividual award you can win but I rather win the Dutch league with Feyenoord."
The Feyenoord forward will receive his award at the Eredivisie gala in august.
