Southampton's important defender Michael
Svensson has been sidelined for up to three weeks after suffering a claf injury
in the warm-up to their defeat at the hands of Portsmouth.
"I knew immediately that I couldn't play,” Svensson told Sportbladet. "It is strange because I didn't feel anything in the calf before. "I will have an X-ray on the calf today or tomorrow and we will see. I really hope I can take part in our forthcoming matches." Hopefully the player will be able to recover as quickly as possible as the player is a key man in Southampton's first-team and Paul Sturrock will want him back after Sunday's fiasco.
