Hodgson Blasts Quakers "Lack Of Professionalism"

Darlington were well on the way to three points on Easter Monday thanks to first-half strikes from Danny Graham and Ryan Valentine (penalty), only for the Shrimpers to hit back straight after the break through Mark Bentley, Leon Constantine and then a winner from Mark Gower.

The defeat puts the Quakers back into the scrap to avoid relegation to the Nationwide Conference.

He fumed: "I told the players at half-time to kill the game off by keeping the ball. But they gave it away immediately and conceded a goal. After that it was horrendous.

"We were running around like a bunch of kids. It was ridiculous. We didn't deserve to be two up. I thought it was luck playing us an ace card.

"But we threw it away. This season should be finished, with us safe from relegation. But we're still in trouble because the players are not professional enough."
