Ex-Huddersfield Town Player Dies, Aged 61

Holden, born in Clayton West, spent five years as part of Huddersfield's professional playing side, playing as right-half between 1959 and 1964.

He was brought to the club by Bill Shankly in September 1960 and netted on his debut against Plymouth.

That was the first of 30 League and Cup appearances, and two goals. He moved on to Oldham Athletic in 1964, before moving to Rochdale where he finished his career.

In over 100 appearances in all, netting seven times, Holden will be remembered by many.

Once hanging up his boots, he then worked for ATS Tyres for 30 years and managed their Oldham branch whilst living in Royton.

The Third Dimension's thoughts are with all related to Holdon, all who knew him personally, and all who are saddened by his death.
