Carlisle Boss Simpson Fuming Over Refereeing

Simpson's men were trailing to goal by Southend's Leon Constantine when the referee awarded a spot-kick for handball against former Darlington player, Adam Rundle after a Mark Bentley's 25-yard strike crashed landed in the Carlisle defensive wall from a free-kick.

Constantine netted from the spot to slot home a twice-taken penalty, but Carlisle boss Simpson argues that the the ball had bounced up off Rundle's boot and hit his hand - nothing that Rundle could do to stop it.

"I can't think of any time in my career where I have seen a decision given like that," he said.

"I find it hard to believe it can be classed as deliberate handball. It was a ridiculous decision."
