Sunderland midfielder Chris Black joins Rovers on a free transfer, while goalkeeper Adam Collin and defender Mike Williamson arrive on loan from Newcastle United and Southampton respectively.

Black can play anywhere in midfield, but does prefer the right flank.

Collin will replace Barry Richardson as second-choice goalkeeper at the weekend, while Williamson, who has not featured for Southampton's first team this season, will also play a part.

All three players go into the squad for Saturday's trip to Oxford.
