Walker Joins Oxford United

The 26-year-old forward is expected at the Kassam Stadium on Wednesday, where he will sign a loan deal with an option on a permanent move to the promotion contenders.

Walker scored eight goals on-loan at Northampton Town earlier this season and has been a long-term target for Oxford boss Ian Atkins.

"Richard has great pedigree and scores goals," Atkins told the club's official website.

"He has qualities which I think will improve the squad and the side.

"I know Richard will come here and be up for the challenge, so it's up to the others now to show that they have what it takes to get the club promoted."
