Carlisle's Mission: Alive and Kicking!

Goals from Tom Cowan (52) and Craig Farrell (76) made it 12 points from the last seven matches for Carlisle as they closed the gap on Macclesfield to just two points.

Carlisle have now won their last two games.

Macclesfield however, were hammered 4-0 at Huddersfield thanks to goals from Andy Booth, Pawel Abbott, Efe Sodje and John McAliskey.

Huddersfield now lie third place, above Oxford.

Meanwhile, at the foot of the table, The Quakers' recent impressive record was demolished as Jermaine Easter scored twice for Cambridge United to secure a 4-3 win in a seven-goal thriller against Darlington at The Reynolds Arena.

Darlington took the lead through Mark Convery, but Easter steered the ball past goalkeeper Michael Price shortly after. This did cause some controversy, as Easter went on to celebrate infront of the Darlington fans - and got away with it!

Quakers' goalkeeper Michael Price then handed Cambridge the lead when he failed to hold a Luke Guttridge free-kick and Danny Webb was able to fire the loose ball into the back of the net.

Cambridge increased their advantage when Easter once again stuck the ball in the net, and then another howler from Price gifted Cambridge a fourth goal.

Darlington staged a late fightback when Clark Keltie and then defender Matt Clarke netted in the 86th minute, but a late equaliser was not possible on a day where nothing went right for David Hodgson's men.
